To be fair. If our new badge had not had any crossed Hammers there would have been the same uproar.
They removed the castle as it represented the Boleyn and we aren't there anymore so fans realised it made sense.
But to remove the white rose is like removing our hammers and so you can see why they've gone mad.
Anyway last I heard is its been scrapped and they are going to start again and consult season ticket holders.

At last a badge worse than ours. Taking ours away was a huge insult to the fans, seems the people who run Leeds have no respect for the fans either.
At least they seem to be listening to the protest, which makes me think - did we protest anywhere near enough or did we simply accept it like we've accepted shit management and board for what seems like a fucking eternity..

Apparently the Leeds Salute is a thing that fans do at each other. If they're on the Costa Brava and see another cunt in a Leeds top they'll sneak a cheeky little fist over the heart at each other (dunno if it then goes full sieg heil after that, but they're halfway so might as well complete the journey). Sort of a crossed hammers thing but with a masonic overtone to it. I've always thought our one was a bit ironic and knowing - theirs is properly genuine and literally heartfelt so by definition is rather cunty.
Anyway it's not so fucking secret now is it?

I fucking hate Leeds but they are a proper football club. Proper northern cunts but at least they fucking support the team.

There is definitely a whiff of the Hitler "Golden Youth" about that badge. The owner is Italian so maybe subconsciously they were riffing on Mussolini's summer camps to get the youth physically fit as well.

I immediately thought of 1930s fascists too!
I am hearing that some parents of kids were asked. Also some fans were asked if they thought the salute represented Leeds fans .... they weren't asked if they thought it would look good on a badge! Heard a comment earlier from an Everton fan saying that the Z Cars theme was so linked to them but they wouldn't want a police car on their badge !!!
